It's a Girl....officially!

We had our 4D Ultrasound done yesterday & finally found out that we ARE having a girl! The tech was 100% sure too! Yeah! We are so ecxited! She had her arm up by her forehead the whole time, so we didn't get the best pictures, but we still got to see her & it was so neat!
Wow, technology is amazing! It was SO cute to see her move her mouth & stick her tongue out. She also gave us a little smile. SO cute! She also has THE cutest nost ever. I really can't wait to meet her now! The kids came with us & it was really neat to hear Adam guessing body parts & asking questions. He thought it was interesting, the others.....not so interested. Matt was bored (what's new-he's always 'bored')Then we told them they were going to have a sister & they were excited.
The lady doing the ultrasound was very nice. She actually did more than we paid for & was very helpful trying to figure out the gender. She had me laying on my side & everything to get a good view of her face & she tried really hard to get a 3D pic of her 'girly' parts. No luck-only in 2D, oh well. Anyway, we are SO excited to give Emily a little sister. She knew something before we did though- she's always said she was having a sister. The boys are excited too!

Mother's Day Poem

Adam & Matt came up with this poem while I was taking a nap on Mother's Day. I found it while cleaning today & I thought it was funny. I had to share. Adam wrote every-other line & Matt did the ones in between.

I love you mom for all you do.
And yes mom, I love you too.
You wiped our butts when we were 2.
You taught us not to eat glue.
When we were hyper & 'Cookoo',
You sat us down & made us watch Blue's Clues
Those are only a few reasons we love you.

Funny guys!

Turkey killer

Craig woke up at 5 am last Saturday (yes, on a Saturday) & said he was going to go Turkey hunting in our back woods. Well, he shot one. And sure enough at about 7am he came home & woke the boys up & told them their dad was a 'turkey killer'! At 7 am the older boys weren't too thrilled, but Matt jumped right up & went outside to see it.

Craig has never even taken a shot at a turkey before, so he was pretty proud that the first time out there he got his first one. In our own backyard!

Here it is:
Our neighbor just happened to be out there (is it really that common to be up at 5am-turkey hunting?) And he helped call in the turkey. I had to edit him out of the picture though. So, you just get to see his knee & arm.

Happy Birthday Eric!

Eric turned 11 last week! I know, my post is a little late, but I DO have other things to do in my day. We had a pizza party & he had a couple of friends sleep over. I made german pancakes in the morning with sausage & OJ. Adam says that's what he wants for his birthday breakfast (in December). I told him to remind me, because I WILL forget. Funny.

Since Eric is a Boy Scout now he got a multi-purpose tool, sleeping bag & ground cover for camp-outs.

He also got a gift card from one of his friends, he likes that. Then, he can go shopping & buy what he likes.

Eric wanted 'Earthquake cake' for his party. I have to explain.......

For Adam's birthday a few years ago I made a chocolate cake in 8" round pans. I baked it, poked holes in it & poured carmel topping in the holes. I stacked the layers & began frosting it & it FELL APART! I mean I kept loading the frosting on, hoping it would hold it together, but it didn't. It just cracked wide open in about 3 pieces. It looked horrible. I told the kids it looked like there was an earthquake! So, they nicknamed it 'Earthquake cake'. So, I asked Craig what I should do. I couldn't serve this ugly cake to the party guests! So, I made a plain yellow cake (quick)-& kept it in the pan-frosted with chocolate frosting. When given the choice, people wanted the 'Earthquake cake' ! Nobody even ate the yellow cake! It was an ugly cake, but it tasted SO good!
So, this year, I made the 'Earthquake cake' again. Guess what.... I couldn't get it to fall apart! I didn't even frost it very well, because I thought it would eventually fall apart anyway, so I thought 'what's the point?' Well, there you have it...I can't duplicate a mistake even if I wanted to. Hmmm..... How is it that things work out that way? Weird.
Anyway, Eric had a fun birthday & got to play with his friends all day after they stayed the night. So, he was happy.

Update

My Dr. appt went good. She found the baby's heartbeat right away, which made me feel better. Of course, I started crying, it was just so nice to hear that little heartbeat. She asked if I was ok & I told her about the accident. She had NO idea! She was so mad that they didn't have me come in the day it happened to be checked out then. I told her I was worried that I hadn't felt the baby move as much that day. She said if anything were to go wrong with the baby, she would feel comfortable delivering it! Yikes, it's only 2 lbs. right now! That would be scary. She sent me to the hospital to get a Non-stress test done. She wanted to monitor the baby's heartbeat for an extended amount of time, instead of just hearing it. So, I laid there for an hour listening to the baby's heartbeat. Yes, I was praying the whole time I was there. They said everything looked good & sent me home. No ultrasound. Oh well. I was so happy to hear everything was ok with the baby. I love modern medicine! What a relief to know everything's alright. Lately, the baby's been moving a lot! I felt a foot or something in my side last night. It's just so weird & exciting at the same time.

I think Craig is pregnant...... He's gained about 10 lbs, is always hungry & seems a little irritable lately. Has anyone else had this happen? It is so weird! He gets a little angry at me when I mention that we have the same 'symptoms', especially when he tries on a pair of pants & they're hard to button. I say "hmmm....I have that same problem." I think it's funny, he doesn't.

99 days left!

I just got on my blog & saw my baby ticker. I have less than 100 days left until this baby is here! I can' t believe it! Wow! Considering my others were 2-3 weeks early, I don't even have that much left, but it was weird to see less than 100 on there! I am so excited!

I was heading to my Dr. appt yesterday when a lady from our ward did a U-Turn right in front of me & we crashed! I laid on my horn & slammed on my brakes, so we were both going pretty slow. I think everything is fine. Yesterday I wasn't feeling the baby move much, so I was getting worried, but I've felt more today. I rescheduled my appt for today at 2pm, so we'll see what she says. I'm kinda hoping she sends me for an ultrasound to check things out just to make sure everything's ok. We'll see. I'll definately keep you updated.

I know the lady was so embarrassed. I felt so bad for her! I kinda wish it was a stranger instead. Our van is driveable, but messed up.

Good thing we have 3 cars! I hate being 'homebound'!
